Job description

Job Overview

The role focuses on ensuring the reliability and uninterrupted operation of all electrical equipment such as HT/LT switchgear, motors, EOT cranes, hoists, UPS, distribution boards, battery chargers, and the illumination system. This is achieved by planning and executing shutdowns, preventive and predictive maintenance in close coordination with plant and operation teams, along with addressing breakdown maintenance as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation and commissioning of CAPEX projects related to the electrical balance of plant (BOP) systems.
  • Participate in planning and budgeting for technical upgrades and regular maintenance activities for upcoming financial years and ensure their implementation.
  • Drive cost savings and minimize rework by continuously improving operational processes without compromising delivery.
  • Provide inputs for working capital cost projections and cash flow management related to maintenance operations.
  • Prevent interruptions caused by inadequate maintenance of motors and switchgear, optimizing profitability.
  • Develop internal capabilities for testing and calibration, maintain optimal spare inventory, and minimize breakdowns to reduce maintenance costs.
  • Respond swiftly to breakdown maintenance requirements to ensure minimal downtime, benefiting internal and external customers.
  • Support vendor management by delivering performance feedback and requirements to commercial teams.
  • Share data effectively across functions and reduce response times in providing information and solutions.
  • Promote sustainable practices by optimizing power consumption and supporting energy-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure all testing kits and measuring equipment calibration are consistently maintained.
  • Adhere to and promote Business Excellence practices aligned with the Workplace Control Model (WCM).
  • Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) and Energy Management System (EnMS) standards.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and participate actively in green initiatives.
  • Implement safety standards and mechanisms targeting zero incidents including LOTOTO, MSDS, 5S, OHSAS, fire safety, HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and HIRA.
  • Monitor and enforce safety observations to eliminate unsafe behaviors.
  • Conduct safety training for both employees and contractors, and actively engage in safety awareness campaigns.
  • Maintain readiness for emergency handling and manage emergencies efficiently.
  • Support people development by monitoring team performance, identifying training needs, and encouraging multi-skilling and behavioral competency enhancement.
  • Oversee the induction, deployment, and ongoing training of contractual workforce ensuring compliance with company wellness and operational standards.
