About the role

This opportunity sits within Google’s Finance organization, where the team supports major business choices through detailed analysis, reporting, and financial process improvement. The role focuses on tax compliance advisory work for Alphabet’s UK operations and international markets, with a strong emphasis on controls, risk management, and cross-functional partnership.

Compensation for Ireland is listed at €116000 - €119000 annually, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits. Pay is set based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Minimum qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or comparable hands-on experience in the field.
  • At least 7 years of background in corporate tax.

Preferred qualifications

  • ACA or CTA qualification.
  • Prior work with technology and data analytics tools.
  • Exposure to tax matters, tax legislation, and tax attributes relevant to the role.
  • Strong capability in project coordination, tax research, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

  • Own tax compliance advisory support across Alphabet’s UK operations and international markets, including oversight of tax incentive submissions for the UK group.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams across finance, legal, tax, and treasury on a range of tax issues, including controversy matters where needed.
  • Spot potential tax exposures and reduce them by putting tax controls and procedures in place, then tracking their effectiveness.
  • Advise internal partners on business decisions, transactions, and risks, while tracking global tax law changes and assessing their effect on the company.
  • Continuously refine tax compliance workflows and systems to improve speed, accuracy, and overall effectiveness.
