Logistics Overview

The logistics arm of the group has evolved from a basic service provider to the largest logistics organization in India over the last two decades. It offers a broad range of solutions including transportation, warehousing, supply chain management, and comprehensive end-to-end logistics services.

Role Purpose

The Team Member for Pricing & Procurement supports the global sales and marketing efforts by preparing competitive pricing, securing procurement deals, collaborating with internal teams, and aiding in revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver precise freight quotations for ocean FCL/LCL, road, and multimodal shipments.
  • Analyze market pricing, carrier tariffs, and surcharges to establish competitive rates.
  • Collaborate closely with sales to respond timely to RFQs and tenders.
  • Maintain and update internal rate management databases with current buying and selling rates.
  • Assess lane profitability and advise management on pricing strategies.
  • Negotiate and secure cost-effective rates from carriers including ocean, air, trucking, and co-loaders.
  • Develop strong partnerships with carriers and agents across networks like IATA, FIATA, WCA.
  • Monitor market trends, availability, and seasonal fluctuations to enhance procurement approaches.
  • Periodically review and renegotiate contracts to retain cost competitiveness.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new carriers or vendors to broaden service offerings.
  • Provide pricing support for business development proposals and presentations.
  • Engage in customer meetings and tender processes as the pricing authority.
  • Work alongside operations to ensure feasibility of quoted services.
  • Deliver market intelligence and benchmark rates to support strategic decisions.
  • Keep meticulous records of rate agreements, contracts, and procurement terms.
  • Generate regular reports analyzing pricing performance, margins, and bid outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to trade laws, customs, and company pricing policies.
  • Assist finance with cost reconciliations and resolving carrier invoice disputes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Postgraduate qualifications such as MBA or PG Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Business are preferred.
