About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join a public sector team for an initial 12-month period with the possibility of extension. This position will be located in one of several key regional offices in the West North-West Region including Galway, Sligo, Castlebar, Letterkenny, or Roscommon. The role requires working onsite at least four days per week as part of a blended working approach, with a standard 35-hour workweek.
You will be employed through an agency and compensated at an hourly rate of 32.02, which corresponds to an annualized salary of 58,477. The position also includes 30 days of paid annual leave and paid bank holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve ICT technical issues following established procedures and service standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of all work activities and prepare clear technical documentation and reports as needed.
- Support ICT project delivery by performing technical tasks within agreed scope, standards, and timeline with meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaborate with service teams and project managers to achieve business outcomes and project goals.
- Assist in managing technical aspects of vendor and supplier relationships, including monitoring service and performance levels.
- Serve as a technical liaison within assigned workstreams and explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
- Provide guidance and support to project team members to facilitate effective completion of assigned tasks.
- Identify and escalate technical challenges and project risks to senior personnel and keep management updated on emerging issues.
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain professionalism consistently.
- Comply with local policies, procedures and stay informed of relevant ICT regulations, data protection standards, and guidelines.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in IT support, technical troubleshooting, or delivering service solutions.
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and related software.
- Competence in effectively using computer technology to manage and deliver outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and independently manage objectives.
- A consistent history of providing high-quality customer service to internal and external users.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Effective planning and organizational abilities.
