Job description
About Orcrist Technologies
Orcrist Technologies GmbH develops a next-generation data intelligence platform utilizing state-of-the-art technologies to handle petabyte-scale data with sub-second query response times. Their product, OIP, is a Kubernetes-based solution offered as both B2B SaaS and self-hosted or on-premises deployments, including secure air-gapped setups.
Role Overview
Operating as a fully remote-first company with distributed physical infrastructure, Orcrist requires a technician responsible for the hands-on setup, maintenance, and security of physical technology at multiple company sites and employee residences. This role focuses on practical implementation and troubleshooting rather than policy design.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, upkeep, and repair of physical technology such as network equipment, access control systems, alarm systems, CCTV surveillance (where applicable), locks, and related physical security measures across company locations and staff residences.
- Carry out security evaluations of employee accommodations used by the company and implement enhancements like securing locks, reinforcing windows and doors, and installing alarms.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of IT and audiovisual hardware at physical sites including setup, servicing, replacement, and decommissioning.
- Respond to urgent physical or technical incidents requiring travel across Germany and Marbella, often on short notice.
- Keep an organized inventory of all physical security and technical devices at various sites and residences.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors such as locksmiths, alarm companies, and internet service providers for outsourced work.
- Document all tasks including installations, repairs, and security improvements for auditing and compliance.
- Act as the primary contact for physical technology emergencies beyond regular hours as needed (e.g., break-ins, hardware failures, alarm faults).
Candidate Profile
- Possess over three years of direct experience working with physical technology installation and maintenance, including network devices, alarm and access control systems, and lock mechanisms — beyond standard IT helpdesk duties.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Able and willing to undertake extensive and often short-notice travel, exceeding 80% of work time.
- Proven capacity for autonomous decision-making and working without constant supervision.
- Fluent in German with practical command of English.
Benefits
- Work in an international team spread across Germany and other locations.
- Engage in a startup atmosphere offering true ownership, flat organizational structure, and quick decision-making processes.
- Receive competitive remuneration based on experience and responsibilities.
- Opportunity for personal development and learning beyond the immediate job role.
