Technology Director

About the Role

The Technology Director position at GBM, based in Dubai, requires an experienced and visionary leader to guide transformational digital initiatives for large enterprise clients in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in adopting cutting-edge technologies from leading vendors including IBM, Cisco, VMware, Red Hat, Oracle, and cybersecurity specialists. Success in this role demands strategic insight, operational mastery, and technical expertise to deliver transformative outcomes aligned with client business goals. You will lead senior technical teams, fostering innovation, performance, and an inclusive culture focused on accountability and results.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and execute a strategic vision for the Technology division, aligning with corporate objectives and customer transformation goals through collaboration with sales and service delivery functions.
• Convert industry trends and client requirements into innovative technology strategies and offerings.
• Direct discovery, assessment, design, security governance, and deployment of scalable technology architectures encompassing hybrid cloud, AI, automation, cybersecurity, and networking.
• Ensure seamless transfer of completed projects to service delivery teams for effective implementation.
• Drive adoption and cross-selling of advanced solutions from Tier-1 technology partners to create distinct customer value.
• Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation programs across diverse sectors, leveraging AI, automation, cloud-native solutions, and data insights to improve speed and ROI.
• Coach and nurture cross-functional teams of architects, engineers, and consultants focused on innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• Promote a culture of high-performance, continuous learning, and customer focus.
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with strategic customers, technology vendors, and ecosystem partners.
• Represent the organization in industry forums, alliances, and advisory boards.
• Oversee technology programs to ensure quality delivery, customer satisfaction, and adherence to KPIs.
• Manage multi-million dollar business targets and optimize resource allocation for maximum profitability and impact.
• Enhance operational efficiency through automation, cloud optimization, and lean management practices.
• Identify new business opportunities, define go-to-market strategies, and collaborate with partners to develop joint value propositions.
• Lead innovation and demand generation efforts with careful market and competitor analysis.
• Work closely with account managers and sales in a specialty sales and presales leadership capacity to align organizational efforts with customer and vendor strategies.
• Create market pull for the company's technology offerings through innovation and expert sales leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

• Over 15 years of growing leadership experience in enterprise technology delivery, including at least 5 years at a senior or director level within a services provider or consulting firm.
• Proven success leading extensive digital transformation initiatives for Fortune 500 or significant regional enterprise clients.
• Expertise in domains such as Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data Platforms, AI and Automation, and Networking.
• Well-established partnerships with major technology vendors like IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, and cybersecurity firms.
• Experience building and scaling high-performing technical teams across multiple geographies or business units.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines; MBA or executive education is advantageous.
