Role Overview
The Telecom Circle IT Coordinator supports IT and telecom operations across a defined circle or region. This position connects business users, field engineers, network teams, vendors, and central IT teams to keep infrastructure and services running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee routine IT and telecom activities across the assigned region.
- Help maintain availability of systems, networks, telecom links, and user devices.
- Track connectivity across LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, switches, and telecom circuits.
- Support setup, configuration, and upkeep of hardware and software assets.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution for network or telecom disruptions.
- Serve as the main contact for IT incidents and service-related issues.
- Monitor incidents, escalations, and service requests in line with SLA timelines.
- Work with the NOC, service desk, and field teams to close issues efficiently.
- Share progress updates and maintain records for incident and problem management.
- Liaise with telecom operators, ISPs, OEMs, and other support vendors.
- Track AMCs, licenses, warranties, and telecom billing-related tasks.
- Keep an updated inventory of telecom assets, SIMs, devices, routers, and IT equipment.
- Ensure assets are properly tagged and documented.
- Review vendor performance against agreed service commitments.
- Coordinate field engineers for installations, maintenance, and fault repairs.
- Help ensure preventive maintenance is completed on schedule.
- Support deployment activities for new sites, branches, or telecom infrastructure.
- Track field progress and escalate delays or operational risks when required.
- Maintain coordination between central IT functions and field operations.
- Provide technical support to circle users and business stakeholders.
- Conduct awareness and training sessions on IT systems and security practices.
- Communicate planned maintenance, outages, and service notices.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding from an IT systems perspective.
- Follow IT security policies and telecom standards.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports covering incidents, uptime, assets, and escalations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.
- Assist in governance reviews and management reporting.
Requirements
- Practical understanding of telecom operations, LAN/WAN, MPLS, VPN, and network monitoring.
- Working knowledge of ITIL and incident management processes.
- Experience coordinating with vendors and managing SLAs.
- Familiarity with ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar tools.
- Ability to manage assets and prepare operational reports.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Good troubleshooting ability and analytical thinking.
