Job Summary

This hybrid Test Lead role focuses on designing, executing, and optimizing complex test strategies for enterprise systems built on Mainframes, SAP MDM NW GDS, and IBM TPF within a global MNC environment. The role spans planning, coordination, and defect governance to ensure high-quality releases that support resilient travel and related services platforms, while collaborating with diverse cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end test planning activities for Mainframes, SAP MDM NW GDS, and IBM TPF initiatives, ensuring comprehensive coverage across functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance scopes.
  • Develop detailed test strategies and test scenarios that align with product requirements, technical designs, and quality standards for large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Create, optimize, and maintain reusable test cases and data sets tailored for Mainframes, SAP MDM NW GDS, and IBM TPF systems to improve consistency and reduce execution effort.
  • Oversee daily test execution cycles in a hybrid work model, ensuring defects are logged, prioritized, and tracked to closure in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
  • Analyze complex defects across Mainframes, SAP MDM NW GDS, and IBM TPF layers, identifying root causes and providing clear, actionable insights to development and architecture stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with business analysts and product owners to validate requirements and acceptance criteria, translating them into measurable and testable objectives that minimize production risk.
  • Implement risk-based testing practices that balance coverage and effort, focusing on critical travel and transaction flows that have the highest impact on customer and business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with environment and infrastructure teams to ensure stable and compliant test environments, including test data refreshes and interface connectivity for upstream and downstream systems.
  • Prepare and present structured test status reports highlighting progress, key defects, quality risks, and release readiness indicators to project and quality governance forums.
  • Drive continuous improvement of test processes by analyzing metrics, introducing optimization opportunities, and encouraging the adoption of modern test tools and automation in relevant areas.
  • Support integration and system testing for travel intermediaries solutions when applicable, ensuring that booking, settlement, and customer servicing workflows are validated end-to-end.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational quality policies, security guidelines, and regulatory expectations while executing test cycles in day-shift operations for hybrid delivery teams.
  • Mentor and guide junior quality professionals on test design, defect management, and the use of testing tools, helping to build a strong quality-focused culture across the project teams.

Qualifications

  • Possess professional experience between eight and eleven years in quality engineering or software testing with significant exposure to complex enterprise platforms.
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in testing Mainframes-based solutions, including batch processes, online transactions, and integrations with peripheral applications.
  • Exhibit practical experience with SAP MDM NW GDS testing, such as data synchronization, master data governance, and integration with other enterprise resource planning components.
  • Show proven capability in validating IBM TPF-based platforms, including transaction flows, performance considerations, and high-availability behaviors within transactional environments.
  • Apply structured test design techniques, familiarity with test management tools, and defect tracking platforms to maintain traceability from requirements to execution outcomes.
  • Bring working knowledge of travel intermediaries domain as a desirable skill, including understanding of booking, distribution, settlement, and partner integration processes to enhance test relevance.
  • Communicate clearly with distributed stakeholders, documenting test results, risks, and recommendations in an accessible manner suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adopt a collaborative mindset within a hybrid work model, managing coordination across onsite and remote participants while maintaining accountability for test milestones and deliverables.

Additional Information

Strong Travel domain exposure across Reservations, RES, PSS, Ticketing, Fares, and Pricing with hands-on understanding of high-volume transactional flows. Proven TPF z/TPF mainframe knowledge including TPF OS internals, runtime behavior, TPFDF, TPF files, and related tooling trace capabilities supporting critical production workflows. Solid working knowledge of GDS reservation ecosystems and common artifacts like PNR, SSR, TTY, and end-to-end booking lifecycle within reservation systems. Comfortable with complex integration landscapes around Offer and Order style constructs and hybrid tech stacks including TPF, Linux, Windows mixes, and legacy mainframe components enabling effective troubleshooting and modernization conversations.
