The role sits within a team delivering a wide mix of development management, infrastructure, environmental and strategic planning work, with a strong focus on projects in the Water and Energy sectors. You will help prepare planning submissions, shape planning approaches, and support engagement with stakeholders while working alongside professionals from different disciplines.

This position offers the chance to build your career with an established international consultancy and contribute to projects that advance sustainable development and essential infrastructure across Ireland.

Role overview

In this position, you will support the delivery of planning work across Ireland, especially in infrastructure, environmental and development planning. Core tasks include preparing planning applications, drafting reports and strategies, and offering planning guidance to clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

You will also work closely with planning authorities, clients and other stakeholders on projects linked to the Water and Energy sectors, as well as broader development and strategic planning assignments. The role includes active involvement in project delivery, stakeholder coordination and business development, while giving you scope to strengthen your technical and professional expertise in a supportive team setting.

Impact of the role

As part of the planning team, you will contribute to sustainable community growth and the delivery of critical infrastructure across Ireland. Your work will help ensure planning applications, infrastructure schemes and strategic initiatives progress smoothly through the planning system.

By collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with stakeholders and planning authorities, you will help develop planning solutions that consider environmental, social and economic factors. In doing so, you will support projects that create long-term value for communities, clients and the environment.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is a planning professional with 3 to 7 years of experience in town planning, environmental planning, infrastructure planning or a similar field. You should have a strong grasp of Irish planning legislation and policy, along with practical experience producing planning applications, reports and supporting documents.

You will also be comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams and communicating with clients, planning authorities and stakeholders to deliver strong project outcomes.
