The opportunity
Stantec is looking to add a Town Planner to its expanding planning team in Cork. The role sits across a varied portfolio of work, including development management, infrastructure, environmental planning and strategic planning. You will support major projects in the Water and Energy sectors, helping with planning submissions, planning strategies and stakeholder engagement, while working alongside teams from different disciplines.

Role overview
In this position, you will help deliver a wide mix of planning assignments across Ireland, with particular emphasis on infrastructure, environmental and development-led planning. Your work will include preparing planning applications, reports and planning strategies, together with advising clients and project teams on planning matters.
You will collaborate with planning authorities, clients and stakeholders, support project delivery and engagement activities, and contribute to business development. The role also offers scope to strengthen your technical capability and progress professionally within a supportive, team-focused environment.
Your impact
As part of the planning team, you will contribute to the delivery of sustainable communities and critical infrastructure across Ireland. Your input will help move planning applications, infrastructure schemes and strategic initiatives through the planning process efficiently and effectively.
Working with multidisciplinary colleagues, you will support Water and Energy projects, engage with stakeholders and authorities, and help shape solutions that balance environmental, social and economic priorities. Your work will help deliver projects that create long-term value for communities, clients and the environment.
About you
The ideal candidate is a planning professional with 3 to 7 years of experience in town planning, environmental planning, infrastructure planning or a closely related field. You should have a solid grasp of Irish planning law and policy, along with practical experience producing planning applications, reports and supporting documents.
You will be comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams and dealing with clients, planning authorities and other stakeholders to achieve high-quality outcomes.
