Role Overview

This position is for an experienced trademark and copyright professional who can lead a legal team, manage contentious and non-contentious IPR work, and advise clients on strategic trademark matters. The role involves both hands-on legal execution and supervision of team output, with regular interaction with authorities, clients, and external counsel.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the IPR legal team by assigning work, monitoring performance, and guiding team members.
• Appear for clients in trademark and copyright hearings before the appropriate authorities.
• Prepare, check, and submit replies to trademark objections, oppositions, office actions, and examination reports.
• Handle trademark oppositions, rectification proceedings, and similar dispute-driven matters.
• Supervise trademark filing and prosecution tasks completed by other team members.
• Offer legal opinions and strategic input on trademark and copyright issues.
• Draft and vet legal notices, agreements, and other IP-related documents.
• Liaise with the Trademark Registry, Copyright Office, government bodies, and outside legal counsel.
• Track trademark portfolios, deadlines, and renewal timelines to ensure timely action.
• Keep clients informed through regular updates on active matters.
• Carry out legal research and remain current on changes in intellectual property law.
• Maintain accuracy, quality, and compliance with legal and procedural standards.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should hold an LL.B. or LL.M. from a recognized university, with active enrollment in the Bar Council being compulsory. The role calls for 5+ years of experience in Intellectual Property Rights, particularly in trademarks and copyrights, along with prior leadership experience as a Legal Head, Team Lead, Senior Associate, or Manager. Strong command of Indian trademark and copyright laws, practical exposure to hearings and prosecution matters, and the ability to manage and mentor legal professionals are essential. Candidates should also be comfortable handling multiple matters independently, working to tight deadlines, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Additional Information

This is a full-time on-site opportunity based in Noida, India. Experience in trademark portfolio management and international trademark filings will be considered an advantage. The role requires excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
