Position Overview
RoadSafe Traffic Systems is hiring a Traffic Control Flagger II in Savannah, GA. This is a non-exempt, on-site role focused on keeping traffic moving safely around construction zones, road maintenance areas, and other active work sites.

Role Summary
The flagger supports safe and efficient traffic movement by placing and removing signs, cones, and barricades; guiding drivers with hand signals and traffic control devices; and helping protect workers and the public in active work zones. The job calls for strong attention to detail, comfort working outdoors in changing weather, and the ability to remain on your feet for long periods.
Key Duties
- Install traffic signs, cones, and related devices to redirect vehicles around work areas.
- Use stop/slow paddles and other tools to control traffic movement.
- Stay in contact with coworkers through two-way radio communication.
- Be prepared to stand, walk, and reach for up to 10 hours per day.
- Handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving items weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Operate company vehicles to move traffic control equipment to and from job locations.
- Carry out routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance inspections.
- Work in outdoor environments that may include moving machinery, traffic, fumes, airborne particles, and variable weather.
- Work in conditions where noise levels are generally moderate to loud.
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to clear a background screening, including a motor vehicle records review.
- Successful completion of a drug screening and compliance with federal DOT requirements.
- Use of required safety gear, including work boots with safety toes, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest.
- Comfortable operating a two-way radio.
- Willingness to work in different weather conditions and traffic environments.
- Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills for working with contractors and internal teams.
- Reliable attendance, dependable transportation, and a strong work ethic.
- Completion of ATSSA Flagger training and company-provided Defensive Driver training.
- Willingness to travel throughout the state, including occasional overnight stays.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and a rotating on-call schedule when project needs require it.
