Traffic Engineer

Overview

An international engineering consultancy firm seeks an experienced Traffic Engineer to join its Roads & Infrastructure team focused on highway projects in Qatar.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related fields.
• At least ten years of professional experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and highway infrastructure.
• Minimum five years of experience working within GCC countries.
• Valid MMUP/UPDA certification is essential.
• Demonstrated expertise in traffic impact assessments, traffic modeling, management plans, and roadway network analysis.
• Comprehensive knowledge of both local and international traffic engineering standards and regulations.
• Proficient use of traffic engineering and simulation tools such as SIDRA, Synchro, VISSIM, AIMSUN, Trans CAD, or equivalent software.
• Experience designing and reviewing traffic control systems, including junctions, signalized intersections, and highway traffic schemes.
• Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Fluent English language skills.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate traffic engineering designs and studies for significant highway and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct traffic impact and transportation planning assessments.
• Create traffic management plans and implement traffic diversion strategies during construction phases.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary design teams, government authorities, and relevant stakeholders.
• Guarantee adherence to project specifications, local laws, and recognized international best practices.
• Provide support in project delivery including design reviews, technical assessments, and offering engineering recommendations.
