Trainee Screener

Role Overview

The Trainee Screener will be responsible for the thorough screening and analysis of baggage to detect prohibited and dangerous items in compliance with regulatory standards. The role demands high accuracy in image interpretation and active coordination with security and airline teams to ensure safety without disrupting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct baggage screening using X-BIS equipment to identify Dangerous Goods, Weapons, Ammunition, or Prohibited Items following established Avsec regulations and SOPs.
• Perform physical inspections and Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) tests on flagged baggage after X-ray screening procedures.
• Maintain exceptional Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores demonstrating advanced image analysis skills.
• Adhere strictly to regulations from BCAS and DGCA, accurately documenting all inspections and security findings for audits.
• Complete pre-operational checks and routine maintenance of security equipment including X-BIS, ETD, CT-EDS to ensure full operational readiness.
• Identify and report any technical faults or malfunctions related to screening equipment and update operational logs accordingly.
• Collaborate closely with CISF officers and airline personnel during baggage inspections or while resolving suspicious detections.
• Keep supervisors informed with timely updates on ongoing security checks and any issues requiring escalation.
• Manage time effectively to complete screening within prescribed deadlines, balancing thoroughness with operational efficiency.
• Exhibit professionalism, discipline, and positive teamwork spirit, strictly following company rules and workplace conduct guidelines.

Qualification

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification is required for eligibility.
