About the Role
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Training Manager to provide effective leadership for all Continuing Airworthiness training activities. This role involves managing a skilled workforce to deliver 'fit for purpose' training solutions, optimizing operational efficiency, and minimizing costs. The Training Manager will be responsible for ensuring training delivery aligns with contracted milestones and identifying new training business opportunities. They will also manage the development of training solutions, bid proposals, and outline syllabi compliant with relevant aviation regulations (Part 145, EASA, EMARS). The position requires a proactive approach to training analysis, delivery, and evaluation, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of training programs according to contracted milestones and requirements.
- Identify and develop new training business opportunities and prepare compliant bid proposals.
- Conduct training needs analyses and produce comprehensive reports and syllabi.
- Manage the execution of various training interventions, including courseware, assessments, and facilities.
- Ensure training is delivered through diverse methods (classroom, virtual, practical, OJT) and manage associated assessments and feedback.
- Lead and manage all aspects of training activities, including bids, data, facilities, trainers, examinations, records, and scheduling.
- Evaluate training design and delivery to implement continuous improvements.
- Manage the BAE Systems and BSL Mandated Training schedule, records, and course planning.
- Set delivery targets, monitor progress, and implement performance improvement programs for Aircraft Maintenance & Support Training.
- Maintain accurate training documentation and airworthiness records.
- Ensure training activities comply with the Training Management Plan, company procedures, and relevant standards.
- Integrate Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management, and Safety Assurance into training practices.
- Support Governance and Assurance frameworks, including process confirmations and audits.
- Address and resolve audit findings promptly and effectively.
- Ensure training activities comply with all applicable contractual requirements, including ITAR, EaPW, ISO, and regulatory changes.
Requirements
- Possess a high level of understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to integrate them into training processes.
- Demonstrate the capability to design, implement, and foster a culture of continuous improvement with supporting management reporting systems.
- Exhibit leadership in developing efficient and cost-effective training strategies.
- Effectively manage the competency of the training department.
- Collaborate with senior management to drive long-term improvements and address non-compliance across departments.
- Ensure seamless integration of training activities within the business through cross-departmental coordination.
- Proven extensive experience as a Leader in Training or a related field.
- Hold a Degree Level Qualification or equivalent.
