Overview

The Treasury Lead will handle daily treasury operations, support ongoing processes, and contribute to various initiatives within the treasury function. This position requires close coordination with finance teams and banking partners to manage liquidity, cash flows, and foreign exchange, ensuring efficient treasury management and compliance across multiple entities and regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate local and regional cash flow forecasts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and analyze cash liquidity reports, including cash balances by account, entity, country, and region.
  • Analyze cash flow variance reports to identify any impact on group liquidity.
  • Collaborate monthly with country Finance Managers to review cash flows and understand underlying business trends.
  • Work closely with Puma Energy and banking partners to resolve operational issues and maintain smooth interactions.
  • Develop and implement liquidity strategies and oversee debt management for specified entities.
  • Manage debt and financing instruments actively to secure cost-effective funding.
  • Participate in renewing credit facilities by negotiating terms alongside the Regional Treasury Head.
  • Create and uphold Treasury policies, procedures, and key performance indicators, ensuring compliance and control.
  • Support intercompany maintenance activities and oversee the execution of new loan agreements with company secretariat.
  • Take charge of foreign exchange procurement and payment operations.
  • Review, reconcile, and approve FX payments, ensuring adherence to financial controls.
  • Monitor FX movements in the region and confirm all processes are followed precisely.
  • Validate and supervise foreign exchange balance sheet exposures.
  • Ensure proper recording of all FX trades.
  • Assist Group Treasury on various projects and financial analyses.
  • Support accounting and audit teams by providing timely confirmations and information.
  • Manage liquidity, optimize interest expenses and earnings, and oversee inter-company financial flows and bank fees.
  • Update daily cash balances, highlight working capital requirements, and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain bank relationships and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for countries within scope.
  • Align with Puma Energy’s processes and policies consistently.
  • Manage and update bank signatories as needed.
  • Keep abreast of local liquidity and regulatory changes and prepare weekly treasury reports.
  • Contribute to Oracle Kyriba implementation and assist with RFP processes within respective countries.
  • Respond to treasury-related queries promptly and resolve audit issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all treasury-related submissions via KissFlow are submitted clearly and punctually.
  • Support treasury aspects for new market entries.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Treasury, or a related discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in treasury management is essential.
  • Strong understanding of treasury, accounting principles, and banking operations.
  • Proficiency in English and French is necessary for effective communication.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheet software for data analysis and reporting.
