Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a remote UX/UI Designer on a direct contract basis with potential for conversion to full-time based on business needs. Join Cro Metrics, a growth marketing agency focused on data-driven experimentation and digital strategy. Designers at this company create polished, production-ready designs supporting CRO experiments, website design, lifecycle marketing, and paid media campaigns. The position emphasizes speed, accuracy, and high-quality output.
Opportunities
There are two design levels: Production & Execution (focused on translating creative direction into pixel-perfect deliverables typically requiring 2-4 years of experience) and Senior, Strategic & Client-Facing (responsible for UX strategy, client presentations, and complex design projects with 5-8+ years of experience). Candidates apply once and the level is determined via interview.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed mockups and design assets for A/B testing, landing pages, email/SMS campaigns, and ads across multiple clients.
- Adhere to brand guidelines and established design systems to maintain seamless visual consistency.
- Interpret briefs and hypotheses independently to produce final designs in Figma, often without wireframes.
- Deliver multiple design variations rapidly to support fast experimentation and iterate based on test results.
- Base design decisions on analytical data and conversion principles rather than just aesthetics.
- Clearly articulate design rationale relating to briefs and hypotheses.
- Prepare design files with clear organization, specs, and annotations for efficient developer handoff, including AI compatibility.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with proactive communication on capacity and obstacles.
- Leverage AI tools throughout design workflows to enhance speed and quality.
- Collaborate closely with program managers, strategists, and engineers ensuring alignment on project goals.
- Quickly adapt to new client brands and work within their Figma environments and processes.
- Contribute to reusable templates and component libraries to boost team efficiency.
Additional senior-level duties include leading complex projects, contributing to UX strategy, managing client presentations, evolving design systems, bridging design and development, conducting UX audits with accessibility standards, maturing AI design practices, and refining design tools and processes.
Candidate Profile
- Production level candidates: 2–4 years of UI/UX or digital production design experience; senior candidates: 5–8+ years with a strategic and technical focus.
- Strong proficiency in Figma with organized, well-structured files using components and auto-layout.
- Portfolio showcasing precise, high-quality work across web, email, and paid media.
- Adaptation to existing brand systems and constraints rather than designing from scratch.
- Experience in conversion-centered design approaches.
- Ability to let experimental data guide design decisions.
- Capability to manage workload across several clients and channels without compromising quality.
- Detail-oriented, delivering pixel-perfect designs with consistent typography and spacing.
- Excellent communication skills and receptiveness to feedback.
- Self-motivated, dependable, able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Senior candidates also require strategic portfolio examples, leadership in complex project design, design systems expertise, technical fluency in front-end constraints and accessibility, client engagement confidence, data-informed mindset, advanced Figma skills, and AI tool integration experience.
AI Requirement
Active practical use of AI tools in daily design workflows is mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate AI-based ideation, asset generation, and prototyping proficiency during the application process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at CRO, experimentation, or growth marketing agencies.
- Knowledge designing for A/B testing and personalization platforms like Optimizely or VWO.
- Familiarity with email template design for platforms such as Klaviyo or Braze.
- Understanding of paid media creative specifications across major advertising platforms.
- Basic HTML/CSS comprehension and front-end design translation.
- Background in eCommerce, SaaS, or subscription product design.
- Involvement in design thought leadership through content creation or community roles.
Contract Details
- Remote contract role with long-term fractional engagement.
- Initial 5–10 business days paid evaluation period performing real client work.
- Continuation based on evaluation feedback with full payment for all hours worked.
- Opportunity to convert to full-time based on mutual interest and business needs.
Success Indicators
- Reliable delivery of polished, on-brand designs with minimal revisions and on schedule.
- Trusted partner for strategists and developers with consistently high-quality outputs.
- Ability to manage multiple clients’ deliverables without sacrificing quality.
- Clean, well-organized design files that facilitate efficient developer collaboration.
- Proactive communication regarding project status and capacity.
- Contribution of reusable assets to enhance overall team productivity.
