Job description
About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a fast-moving retail start-up that is preparing to launch and needs an experienced Warehouse Manager to create the warehouse function from the ground up.
You will be responsible for building the operation, shaping the workflow, and putting in place the systems and team needed for a successful launch. The role offers the chance to make a meaningful and long-term contribution to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and set up a new warehouse to support both store and online fulfilment activity.
- Create practical warehouse processes, inventory controls, and storage arrangements that support efficient day-to-day operations.
- Write standard operating procedures and supporting documentation for receiving, replenishment, order fulfilment, and stock control.
- Hire, train, and organise a warehouse team for a seven-day operating model.
- Develop working relationships with freight providers, couriers, and suppliers while ensuring the site is launch-ready.
What You Need to Bring
- Proven experience launching warehouses, distribution centres, or similar greenfield operations.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse systems, stock management, and operational processes.
- Understanding of how WMS and ERP platforms connect within a retail setting.
- Background in retail, e-commerce, or omnichannel fulfilment environments.
- Hands-on style with the ability to switch between planning at a high level and executing on the floor.
- Well-developed communication and organisation skills, including experience leading and developing warehouse teams.
What’s On Offer
- The opportunity to take ownership of a true warehouse start-up project from the very beginning.
- Strong autonomy and close collaboration with senior leadership.
- The chance to build the systems, processes, and team that will shape the business going forward.
- Involvement in an exciting retail launch where your work will have lasting impact.
- Flexibility to engage on either a contract or fixed-term basis.
