About the Role
Wood is seeking a Warehouse Storeperson based at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane, Queensland. The role involves ensuring all received materials are correctly located, stored, and preserved following company policies and procedures, managing daily and forecasted material requests in the warehouse environment. A current forklift license and the capability to operate and maintain a forklift are mandatory requirements for this position. Applicants must be Australian citizens or hold the necessary permits or visas valid for this region.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, equipment, and spare parts from suppliers and contractors.
- Utilize SAP and non-catalogued goods receipt and issue processes, perform inventory transactions and material movements according to company standards.
- Maintain material traceability by recording heat certificates, quality records, inspection documents, and warehouse data in SharePoint databases.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Reliability, and Procurement teams to assist in inspection, certification, and material release.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and repacking of products while maintaining correct stock location, rotation, and preservation.
- Pick, stage, and issue materials supporting maintenance activities, shutdowns, and operational demands.
- Manage returns, surplus materials, repairable items, and oversee external dispatches.
- Perform stocktaking and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Uphold excellent standards in housekeeping, safety, security, and environmental compliance throughout warehouse and storage facilities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum five years of experience in industrial warehousing, stores, or materials management.
- Experience with mechanical spare parts and rotating equipment in sectors such as refining, petrochemical, mining, manufacturing, energy, or other heavy industries is highly valued.
- Proficient in SAP Materials Management (MM) functions including goods receipt, goods issue, inventory transactions, and stock management.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, stock preservation, and material traceability.
- Familiarity with managing mechanical spare parts, valves, piping, instrumentation, and maintenance materials.
- Experience handling material certification and quality documentation such as heat traceability.
- Understanding of Dangerous Goods storage and handling or willingness to obtain related certifications.
- Solid grasp of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, quality management, and warehouse management systems.
- Must hold a current forklift license and Australian driver's license.
- Strong computer skills including SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
