About the Role
Water damage incidents can be highly distressing for homeowners and businesses alike. At Stoney Restoration, Water Damage Technicians act as immediate responders who arrive quickly to manage these urgent situations effectively and ensure thorough restoration.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to water damage emergencies in residential and commercial properties caused by events such as burst pipes, sewer backups, and flooding.
- Extract standing water and conduct necessary demolition work on affected structures.
- Set up, monitor, and fine-tune drying equipment to restore environments.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites throughout projects.
- Communicate professionally and clearly with property owners and team members.
- Accurately document job progress and tasks completed using mobile devices.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company standards during all operations.
- Collaborate effectively with crew members to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and correctly.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Possess a diligent work ethic with a strong resolve to complete tasks efficiently.
- Exhibit mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and use tools effectively.
- Reliable and well-organized, arriving punctually and prepared for work.
- Physically capable of performing lifting tasks, navigating confined spaces, and working active job sites.
- Comfortable operating in wet, dirty, or otherwise unpleasant environments as required.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a team-oriented approach.
- Prioritize safety in every aspect of the job.
- Hold a valid driver's license with a clean record and be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Experience and Certifications
While not mandatory, candidates with backgrounds in construction labor, demolition, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, janitorial work, farm work, vacuum truck operation, general labor, or similar technician trades will find their experience transferable.
- IICRC Water Damage Technician (WRT) certification is advantageous but not required; assistance to obtain certification is provided.
Work Schedule
This position involves emergency restoration work that operates on a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule. Candidates seeking strictly daytime hours will not be suitable for this role.
