Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled winder to become part of our team. As a winder at IPS, you will be responsible for rewinding a variety of fundamental electromechanical equipment. This includes removing original windings, assessing damage from winding failures, recording data related to the original windings, fabricating new coils, winding, and performing tension tests on standard/basic windings. This position offers advancement opportunities based on your skills and experience. Key duties include:

  • Rewinding different types of electromechanical equipment
  • Disassembling or removing damaged or unusable electromechanical equipment, including sand blasting
  • Inspecting equipment for winding damage and electrical fault evidence
  • Recording all pertinent electromagnetic characteristics and operational conditions, damages, or intended functions
  • Preparing reusable parts and inspecting refurbished components for structural damage or anomalies
  • Safely dismantling stators or devices without harming the core or iron components
  • Testing rewound electromechanical equipment under EASA standards and documenting test outcomes

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience rewinding both AC and DC electric motors
  • Prior experience with winding fields, synchronous rotor armatures, and poles
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and comprehend fractions
  • Competency in reading, writing, and understanding simple to moderately complex written and verbal instructions
  • Capacity to grasp, execute, and retain various work-related training, operational, and safety procedures
  • Proficiency in operating and conducting Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI)
  • Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and routine decision-making within established company standards
  • Skill in handling machinery and hoists

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and bend for extended durations
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 50 pounds
