Role overview
This is a full-time Winemaker opportunity based at the Yenda Winery. The business is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic professional with substantial experience in a large-scale winery environment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out vinification and prepare wines to a high standard.
- Contribute effectively as part of the winemaking team.
- Create and refine wine styles that align with customer expectations.
- Represent the winery in public relations and wine tasting activities.
- Undertake trial work aimed at improving quality and reducing costs.
- Oversee cellar safety and make sure all operations meet required safety standards.
Candidate profile
- Holds a tertiary qualification, or an equivalent qualification, in Winemaking or Oenology.
- Brings proven experience working in a large winery.
- Works well in a team and demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal ability.
- Can work autonomously and manage workload and priorities independently.
- Has strong supervision, planning and organising skills, including experience using computer systems.
- Communicates clearly and presents themselves professionally.
- Understands how to operate a large winery profitably.
