Job description

About the Role

This remote contract opportunity is for a vocational training expert who will help create realistic workforce-training scenarios for AI research and evaluation. The work is designed to reflect authentic training, assessment, and apprenticeship environments used by major education and workforce organizations.

Project Scope

You will build a digital work setting based on the kind of folders, documents, and communication threads used in daily training operations. The environment may include curricula, competency rubrics, lesson plans, apprentice records, certification paperwork, email exchanges, and connected tools such as Google Classroom, Google Forms, and SharePoint.

The assignments are intended to be multi-step and grounded in real-world workflows. They should require interaction across several apps, files, and stakeholders in order to test advanced AI agent behavior.

What You Will Do

  • Create realistic training environments and supporting materials for workforce-development scenarios.
  • Develop complex tasks that mirror actual operational processes across multiple systems.
  • Partner with other vocational and workforce-training specialists to define scope, improve realism, and validate scenarios.
  • Work independently with research teams and help refine benchmark tasks and evaluation standards.
  • Support frontier AI research by contributing scenarios that help assess the next generation of AI systems.

Required Background

Applicants should bring at least 3 years of full-time experience from a large community college system, a major union training trust, or a Fortune 500 corporate training/L&D environment. A background in curriculum development and instructional design for skilled trades or technical programs is essential.

Experience managing apprenticeship programs registered with the Department of Labor or state authorities is required, along with familiarity with competency-based assessment and credentialing systems such as NOCTI or NCCER. Daily hands-on use of tools like Google Classroom, Google Forms, and SharePoint or Box is also expected.

Strong analytical judgment and clear writing ability are important for success in this role.

Compensation

Pay is based on completed tasks, with competitive compensation of approximately $850 to $1,000 per task, subject to change. High performers may also receive a weekly bonus. Those who consistently deliver strong quality and throughput may be moved to an hourly pay structure.

Application Process

The application takes about 20 to 30 minutes and includes three steps: upload your resume, complete an AI interview based on your resume, and submit the form.

Support

For details about the interview flow and platform, candidates can refer to the provided help resources. Questions or support requests can be directed to the listed support email.

Additional Information

The employer is headquartered in San Francisco and describes itself as a connector of top creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. Its investors include Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey. The team reviews applications daily, and candidates are expected to complete the AI interview and full application steps to be considered.
