Activepieces/n8n Automation Builder

About the Role

We are developing a cutting-edge AI platform that transforms user prompts into fully functional AI agents within 60 seconds without any setup or fine-tuning, far surpassing existing solutions that require hours or days to configure. Our goal is to deliver seamless automation that works flawlessly every time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade agents using Activepieces (an alternative to n8n), including triggers, routers, code steps, AI steps, and integrations, ensuring end-to-end functionality.
• Deliver autonomous and stable agents engineered to run unattended for extended periods rather than simple one-off automations.
• Design setup processes to be effortless for non-technical users by implementing one-click OAuth connections instead of complex API key configurations.
• Validate every agent through real-world scenarios such as interacting with actual inboxes, calendars, and scheduling meetings before deployment.
• Create or modify Activepieces components in TypeScript when required components are missing.
• Collaborate directly with the company founder on prioritized, demand-driven development tasks.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrable hands-on experience building workflows and agents on Activepieces or n8n platforms, with portfolio examples of successfully shipped flows.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, particularly within code steps handling complex payloads, date and timezone manipulation, and working with third-party APIs that may have irregular behavior.
• Strong understanding of OAuth authentication, webhooks, and integration with external APIs.
• Keen focus on reliability, including managing loop protections, failure handling, and creating agents that require minimal supervision.
• Ability to work rapidly and adaptively in a startup environment, building and deploying solutions quickly.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience contributing Activepieces components publicly or to open-source automation projects.
• Skills in prompt engineering for AI-related steps.
• Experience with self-hosted deployment environments.
