Position Summary
The Economics Program invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach Intermediate Microeconomic Theory (ECO 250) during the fall 2026 semester. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:45 pm. This non-calculus-based course will integrate theoretical microeconomics with practical contemporary applications.
Course Overview
ECO 250 (3 credits) explores the behavior of individual economic participants by developing and assessing models that explain consumer, producer, and government decisions regarding consumption, production, and distribution within the economy. Topics include market theory, pricing, firm incentives across competitive to monopoly markets, profit maximization, optimization, indifference curves, economic efficiency, market failure, resource markets, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, externalities, and public goods. Prerequisites: ECO 113 and ECO 114.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Economics, be doctoral candidates in Economics, or possess a master's degree in the field. Preference is given to those with proven teaching experience.
Compensation
Starting salaries for adjunct instructors vary based on qualifications and level of instruction, ranging from $1,084 to $1,435 per credit hour. For this 3-credit course, compensation is between $3,255 and $4,305.
