Position Summary
The Application Security Support Specialist plays a vital role within the Enterprise Applications & Systems team. The individual manages daily user access, security role allocation, and license administration across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), Emburse expense management, and other integrated applications. Working closely with enterprise teams and regional security administrators, the specialist ensures proper user permissions, delegation of authority updates, and license optimization in IRC’s complex international setting.
Key Duties
- Act as the main contact for access and security-related inquiries regarding D365 F&O and Emburse by global staff.
- Grant, update, and revoke user roles based on authorized requests submitted through ServiceNow.
- Implement delegation of authority changes and configure journal approver settings within D365 F&O.
- Address licensing and access questions, guiding staff through correct procedures and timing.
- Assist with access management for emerging systems, such as Claude.
- Coordinate periodic user access reviews for D365 F&O with global Security Administrators.
- Manage quarterly review cycles to identify and disable inactive accounts, ensuring compliance.
- Verify that permissions align with job duties and adhere to the principle of least privilege.
- Report access irregularities, segregation-of-duty conflicts, or breaches of policy.
- Respond to access audit requests as necessary.
- Monitor D365 F&O license usage across all user locations, identifying inefficiencies, duplicates, or misassignments.
- Cross-verify Power Platform licenses against Azure tenant usage details.
- Generate monthly reports highlighting license usage, optimization prospects, and cost-saving recommendations.
- Enforce licensing governance in accordance with Microsoft agreements and IRC policies.
- Compile comprehensive reports and dashboards on access and license status for internal review and validation by country-level offices.
- Maintain thorough documentation of access management workflows, standard operating procedures, and security governance guidelines.
Professional Relationships
- Reports to: Deputy Director, Business System Operations.
- Works with Senior Adoption Coordinators, Integra Security Administrators, HR, and Finance teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in IT support, system admin, or application access management roles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations roles and security setups.
- Basic understanding of Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID) user and group management.
- Strong analytical capabilities for license usage data interpretation.
- Experience handling ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform (e.g., MB-300, PL-900).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Power Platform licensing and tools.
- Experience working in humanitarian or nonprofit sectors with multi-country programs.
- Awareness of IT governance frameworks such as ITIL.
- Exposure to software asset management or license management tools.
