Role Overview
In the role of Assistant Manager - Central Operations, you will manage a portfolio related to processes, compliance, and inventory across our dark store network. Your tasks include establishing performance measurement, coordinating with stores and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, and automating processes to minimize manual work. The scope of responsibilities is broad and will evolve as the network grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain service level agreements for receiving, putaway, pendency closure, and task compliance by addressing recurring failures at their source and extending control mechanisms to new procedures.
- Lead the central audit program covering hygiene, process adherence, community guidelines, and safety. Track audit completions by auditors per store and ensure corrective actions are fully implemented. Manage new store launch readiness and audits comprehensively.
- Oversee inventory management including dispersion, comingling, cycle count coverage, bin accuracy, and expiry tracking to meet targets. Optimize ABC velocity-based inventory placement and pick path design to reduce picking time, mistakes, and defects.
- Plan store capacity effectively to ensure adequate stock levels and commercial plans without space issues. Manage asset tagging and utilization for racking systems, chillers, and freezers.
- Develop dashboards and self-service tools to replace manual reports. Utilize Lean Six Sigma and AI technologies to eliminate manual processes and standardize operations across markets.
- Complete leadership-assigned central programs punctually, ensuring stakeholder alignment and clear data-driven reporting.
- Take on additional central operations responsibilities as assigned, aligned with business priorities and your own strengths.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 3 to 6 years' experience in quick commerce, e-commerce fulfillment, retail supply chain, or warehouse operations, including hands-on responsibility for process design, auditing, or inventory accuracy across multiple locations. Experience with multi-market or distributed teams is advantageous.
- Technical expertise in SQL and BigQuery, Python for automation, and Power BI or Tableau for analytics. Proficiency with AI tools and advanced spreadsheet skills including Google Apps Script is preferred.
- Strong background in Lean Six Sigma with documented project experience, excellent SOP and process documentation skills, and a commitment to operational excellence focused on metric definition, measurement, and gap closure.
- Ability to drive issue resolution with teams beyond direct reporting lines, transform raw data into actionable leadership recommendations, handle ambiguity confidently, and prioritize standardization over reactive problem-solving.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- High personal standards with a keen understanding that diligent work is essential.
- Relentless resourcefulness combined with a strong bias toward action.
- Originality and courage in approach and thinking.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and eagerness to learn and pivot as needed in a dynamic environment.
