Assistant Manager QA/QC

Role Overview

This position focuses on project-wide quality assurance and quality control for infrastructure and civil works. The selected professional will help maintain the quality management system, oversee documentation and compliance, and inspect site activities and materials to ensure work meets contract, client, consultant, and applicable standards.

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and improve the Project Quality Management System (PQMS).
• Draft, assess, and sign off quality-related documents such as quality plans (QAP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), method statements, and work procedures aligned with ISO requirements.
• Confirm adherence to contractual requirements, IS codes, ASTM standards, and any other relevant technical specifications.
• Coordinate internal quality audits and track the resolution of non-conformities until closure.
• Review the quality systems used by vendors and subcontractors and support their approval process.

Quality Control Responsibilities

• Lead and support inspection and testing activities for site materials and construction works.
• Check concrete-related work such as batching, placement, and curing.
• Inspect rock excavation, slope stabilization, tunneling, dam structures, waterways, surge shafts, and powerhouse-related works.
• Verify reinforcement and shuttering before and during execution.
• Ensure testing is carried out for materials including cement, aggregates, steel, water, and admixtures.
• Review and maintain records such as field test reports, cube test results, soil test reports, and non-destructive testing (NDT) reports.
• Work with site laboratories and external laboratories to coordinate testing and reporting.
