Role Overview
Join Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. as an Azure Linux Administrator to manage installation, configuration, and ongoing administration of Linux servers within an enterprise environment. This role demands hands-on technical expertise to support production systems across various Linux distributions while collaborating with cloud and application teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain Linux servers including installation, configuration, and administration tasks.
- Provide sustainment and support for production environments operating Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, and Ubuntu distributions.
- Administer high availability (HA) cluster environments leveraging Pacemaker and Corosync tools.
- Monitor cluster resource health, manage failover processes, fencing, and creation of clusters efficiently.
- Lead patching schedules, system upgrades, and diagnose troubleshooting issues.
- Manage storage solutions including Logical Volume Management (LVM), filesystems, and Network File System (NFS) configurations.
- Address boot, performance degradation, and server uptime concerns proactively.
- Control user accounts, configure sudo privileges, and implement security hardening measures.
- Support backup strategies, system monitoring, and log management processes to ensure operational integrity.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with SAP applications teams and cloud infrastructure groups.
- Document technical procedures, root cause analyses (RCA), and prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in on-call rotations and change management activities as part of ITIL-based processes.
- Engage with Azure cloud technologies to support enterprise cloud infrastructure.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong foundational skills in Linux administration with expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 7 and 8, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server versions 12 and 15.
- Practical experience managing Linux clustering technologies.
- Familiarity with Pacemaker and Corosync for cluster resource management.
- Working knowledge of LVM and NFS for storage management.
- Skilled in shell scripting to automate routines.
- Competent with systemd service management.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting production environment issues.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must possess at least a bachelor's degree in any discipline.
