Job Overview

The Civil Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections related to civil and structural works at construction sites, ensuring all activities comply with project specifications and relevant regulations. Responsibilities include rigorous quality verification of materials and workmanship, detection and reporting of any discrepancies, and maintaining comprehensive documentation of inspection outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute civil and structural inspections on-site adhering to project and regulatory guidelines.
• Assess civil and structural materials for quality and conformity prior to approval.
• Perform thorough quality assurance checks verifying alignment with design drawings and construction protocols.
• Record findings, test outcomes, and observations clearly in detailed reports and site documentation.
• Detect and report defects, non-conformities, and deviations to project management promptly.
• Carry out material testing and dimensional measurements to verify specification compliance.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and site staff to clarify inspection requirements and share findings.
• Preserve well-organized records of inspections, certifications, and approvals for project archives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in civil and structural inspection roles.
• Substantial involvement with large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure, such as pump stations, shafts, and sewage treatment plants.
• Demonstrated expertise in quality assurance and control inspections on major infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Skilled at preparing detailed inspection reports and technical documentation.
