Communication (COM) Supervisor

Mission and Main Objectives

This role supports the COM and SCADA Manager in prioritizing tasks according to operational and safety requirements while aligning with business goals. The supervisor assists maintenance teams in resolving complex issues to ensure asset maintenance complies with quality standards and the assets remain safe, reliable, and compliant throughout their lifecycle. Independent problem-solving is encouraged, supported by guidance from experienced colleagues.

The role requires adherence to metro standards, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and strict observance of safety and quality mandates. Additionally, the supervisor supports procurement by providing technical evaluations and justifications for RFQs, developing Bills of Materials, participating in tender processes, resolving technical queries, and sourcing alternative equipment suppliers to meet Saudi Arabia's localization goals focused on enhancing quality and lowering costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee asset maintenance including maintenance planning, asset strategy, and implementing predictive and condition-based maintenance for COM & SCADA systems.
• Plan and supervise maintenance and repair operations in line with work plans and manuals to ensure quality standards are met.
• Assist with recruitment, training, and performance assessments of team members to promote continuous professional development.
• Support technical leadership in conducting Root Cause Analysis and Incident Reporting for faults, failures, and other incidents.
• Contribute to creating, reviewing, updating, and approving maintenance documentation, design drawings, and related documents.
• Lead or oversee complex maintenance activities performed by internal teams or subcontractors.
• Guarantee team safety by enforcing safety procedures, proper use of tools, and organizing safety briefings and toolbox talks for supervisors.
• Help maintenance teams troubleshoot difficult issues and monitor CMMS logs to ensure adherence to best maintenance practices.
• Review change management processes thoroughly to prevent operational disruptions.
• Act as deputy for the COM & SCADA Manager or Head of Transit Systems and carry out additional related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of a Technical Diploma is required; an Engineering Degree is preferred.
• Lean or Six Sigma certifications are desirable.
• At least 5 years of experience in system-related roles within rail, aviation, or transportation industries.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory positions.
• Proven experience with Bill of Materials creation, procurement procedures, competitive tender involvement, and technical clarification provision.
• Skilled in Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
• Experience delivering insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Competency in failure prediction and devising solutions to extend asset lifespan.
