Data Analyst - Procurement Systems & Analytics

About the Role

Ecolab is looking for a Data Analyst to join the Analytics & Digital Solutions team supporting the Global Supply Chain and Procurement functions. This position focuses on procurement systems and analytics, blending deep procurement knowledge with expertise in data analysis and system tools like SAP, GEP, and business intelligence platforms. The goal is to enhance spend visibility, improve data governance, and enable effective reporting to support sourcing strategies worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Standardize and classify vendor data and spend categories for effective global category and spend management.
• Maintain consistency of master and transactional data across SAP, GEP, and data lake systems.
• Support ongoing initiatives for data quality assurance, validation, and governance.
• Collaborate with data engineering and product teams to define data requirements, mappings, and transformations.
• Improve data pipelines, models, and reporting structures to establish scalable analytics and reporting solutions.
• Identify automation possibilities to reduce manual reporting efforts.
• Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Digital teams to ensure data alignment and business impact.
• Create clear, executive-level visual presentations and insights to influence decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvements in reporting processes, data standards, and analytics frameworks by spotting opportunities for standardization and efficiency.

Experience and Skills Required

• 3 to 5 years in data analytics roles focusing on procurement and spend analysis.
• Experience managing large and complex procurement datasets across direct and indirect spend categories.
• Familiarity with vendor mapping, classification, and performance evaluation for global category management.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and spend categories.
• Understanding supplier performance metrics, compliance systems, and global procurement standards.
• Advanced skills in reporting and visualization software; expertise in Power BI is highly valued.
• Capable of data cleaning, transformation, and creating dashboards that highlight spend patterns, vendor risks, and cost-saving insights.
• Excellent communication skills to succinctly convey complex procurement information to diverse stakeholders.
• Proven stakeholder management experience collaborating with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
• Analytical and detail-focused with problem-solving skills, aiming for accuracy and continuous reporting enhancements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working with supply chain applications and ERP systems, particularly SAP.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in process design, implementation, and ongoing improvement.
• Knowledge of data science techniques such as time series analysis, forecasting, classification, and regression analysis is a plus.
