Overview
A Dublin-based employer is looking for a Data Systems Developer to strengthen a growing data platform. The position is central to the data stack, with responsibility for existing pipelines and their ongoing improvement while the broader team works on important infrastructure projects in a fast-moving setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of Python-driven ETL pipelines and related data workflows, keeping current scripts dependable and improving them over time.
- Create and maintain Python scripts for data collection, transformation, and automation tasks.
- Oversee routine pipeline operations, including monitoring jobs, handling failures, rerunning workflows, and preserving data accuracy.
- Use REST APIs to connect systems and transfer data reliably.
- Investigate issues in data and pipeline processes, determine the underlying cause, and fix problems efficiently.
- Assist with integrations between internal and external platforms.
- Prepare clear documentation that works for both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Spot automation opportunities using tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, and N8N.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather needs and turn them into workable solutions.
Experience and Skills
- At least 2 years of practical Python experience, including maintaining and enhancing existing scripts.
- Hands-on background with ETL pipelines and data workflows.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and how to manage them in live environments.
- Experience dealing with failures, reruns, and the day-to-day upkeep of stable data pipelines.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying and checking data is beneficial.
- Comfortable working with legacy or pre-existing codebases.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Familiarity with GitHub and standard version control practices.
- Experience with ERP systems or related integrations.
- Exposure to automation platforms like Power Automate, Power Apps, or N8N.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a similar discipline.
