DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Comviva is seeking an experienced and motivated DevOps Engineer to become a critical member of our dynamic DevOps team based in Hyderabad. The role involves designing, automating, and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines along with cloud infrastructure across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and sustain highly efficient, automated CI/CD pipelines utilizing AWS DevOps capabilities along with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Automate application build, testing, and deployment stages to enable swift and dependable environment releases.
• Incorporate security assessments including SAST/DAST, vulnerability management, and compliance verifications into the CI/CD workflows to support DevSecOps.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles by developing and maintaining Terraform scripts for resource provisioning and management.
• Automate routine operations and configuration tasks using scripting techniques.
• Employ containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes to package, deploy, and manage applications effectively.
• Manage Kubernetes applications using Helm charts.
• Set up comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems with AWS monitoring tools, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar technologies ensuring system and application health.
• Configure dashboards and alerts to proactively detect and resolve performance or system issues.
• Write automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline operations, create custom tooling, and interact with APIs.
• Work collaboratively with development, QA, and operations teams to optimize workflows and advocate DevOps methodologies across the company.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on DevOps and cloud technologies fostering continuous improvement and knowledge dissemination.
• Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities to resolve complex technical problems in both production and non-production settings.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Six to eight years of hands-on DevOps experience with deep knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Practical expertise in DevOps tools encompassing code repositories, build and deployment pipelines, artifact and container registries.
• Strong proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies.
• Experienced user of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Familiar with monitoring solutions relevant to cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, as well as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Proficient in scripting with Python and Bash.
• Comfortable with version control using Git.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts within cloud environments including virtual cloud networks (VCNs), load balancers, and VPNs.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills with an ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
• AWS certifications are highly desirable.
