What the Job Involves

In this fast-moving environment, the Dishwasher plays an important role in protecting resident health and supporting the overall operation of the home. The position focuses on keeping dishes, kitchen equipment, and work areas clean, safe, and sanitary at all times while contributing positively to the team culture.

Key Duties

• Wash dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery using the approved sanitation process
• Use dish machine chemicals correctly and follow the 3-sink method for pot washing
• Clean kitchen surfaces and mop the entire floor
• Carry out cleaning assignments according to the site cleaning schedule
• Receive supplier deliveries, unpack crates, and put items away as needed
• Report issues to the team leader and suggest appropriate corrective action
• Complete other related tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum education of Grade 10
• Smart Serve certification is required
• At least 1 year of dining room service experience
• Strong customer service ability and very good spoken and written English
• Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
• Safe Food Handling Certification is an asset
• Applicants must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
• Applicants must also pass a Criminal Records Check
• Must be legally allowed to work in Canada, or hold a valid work/study permit
