Experience Designer

Job Overview

The Experience Designer is integral in crafting creative and distinctive design solutions, especially for retail environments. This role emphasizes delivering innovative designs while collaborating closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure feasibility and alignment with brand and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Make confident design decisions and support colleagues in developing their ideas.
• Guide engineers and studio members to maintain design integrity through to production, considering client needs and feasibility.
• Develop and present original concepts for daily work, creative reviews, and client presentations.
• Produce detailed deliverables from ideation sketches to 3D renderings and collaborative presentations.
• Analyze briefs and specs to conceptualize custom physical design structures that meet creative, structural, and environmental criteria and optimize production efficiency.
• Create initial sketches by hand, refine designs via Photoshop, and build detailed 3D models with advanced CAD tools.
• Utilize design and CAD software to develop prototypes, final designs, and detailed models.
• Promote teamwork, collaboration, and ongoing professional growth within the studio.
• Work with cross-functional teams to grasp project objectives, user requirements, and technical constraints.
• Keep abreast of trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques relevant to retail, quick service restaurants, and hospitality sectors.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Duties

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of three years' experience in industrial, interior, or architectural design.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and completed projects.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Excellent visual communication and iterative sketching/modeling skills.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and Layout.
• Knowledge of sustainability principles and materials involved in design processes.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Periodical walking and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
• Extended sitting duration.
• Travel up to 20% to customer sites.
• No significant exposure to chemicals or heavy lifting requirements.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $90,000.
