About AnnexPass
AnnexPass is the operational system and workflow designed to ensure compliance with the EU battery passport regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/1542). Beginning 18 February 2027, batteries marketed within the EU must be accompanied by a digital passport. Starting August 2027, additional supply-chain due diligence requirements come into effect. This presents a critical market access condition for manufacturers, importers, and integrators of industrial and storage batteries, though much of the supply chain remains unprepared.
The product consolidates Annex XIII battery passport data, gathers supplier evidence related to cobalt, lithium, nickel, and graphite, executes the Article 48 due diligence process, and disseminates an attested record via GS1 Digital Link. The primary focus lies on industrial batteries exceeding 2 kWh—including container Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and commercial/industrial storage—with support also for electric vehicle and light transport batteries. The product is fully developed and undergoing final quality assurance. AnnexPass was created by a climate infrastructure investor addressing persistent challenges in battery storage transactions arising from supply chain unreadiness for 2027.
Role Overview
As the founding commercial partner, you will spearhead the go-to-market strategy, transitioning AnnexPass from a completed product to acquiring its inaugural paying enterprise clients and establishing a scalable commercial growth engine. This is not a typical sales role with a preset script; rather, it calls for entrepreneurial ownership of the commercial roadmap.
- Identify and secure the first enterprise customers, including industrial battery manufacturers, BESS operators, importers, and integrators subject to the 2027 obligations.
- Develop the sales approach, pricing models, and early commercial playbook rooted in fundamental market realities.
- Manage the entire commercial process encompassing pipeline creation, qualification, demonstrations, negotiations, and deal closure.
- Collaborate closely with the founder to transform early design partners into references and progressively build a repeatable sales motion.
- Serve as a credible representative to senior buyers in compliance, sustainability, and operations confronting these new regulatory demands.
Who Should Apply
- Experienced commercial leaders with a history of closing enterprise or B2B SaaS deals, preferably within compliance, regulatory technology, energy, industrial sectors, or supply chain management.
- Individuals capable of selling an innovative, first-of-its-kind solution into a nascent market where buyers often are unaware of their need for such a tool.
- Candidates comfortable in early-stage company environments: pre-revenue, development-focused, offering substantial ownership stakes and upside potential in exchange for inherent risks.
- Professionals passionate about the energy transition and regulatory framework driving it, motivated to proactively address imminent compliance deadlines.
Terms and Structure
This position is an equity-based founding partnership coupled with commissions tied to closed business. Rather than a high fixed salary, you will hold a genuine share of the company’s success and will be instrumental in building the commercial engine. Specific equity and commission arrangements will be detailed during discussions and legal documentation at company incorporation.
The role is fully remote, concentrating on the European market. AnnexPass is being incorporated in Estonia.
