Role Overview

GFL Environmental is seeking a General Labourer to work at their Duncan facility in British Columbia. The role involves carrying out a variety of physical and maintenance tasks safely and effectively at a hauling company, transfer station, material recycling facility, or landfill.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Fuel vehicles and operate general site vehicles including water trucks, sweepers, mowers, and pickup trucks
• Perform yard maintenance tasks such as mowing and picking up debris
• Clean track equipment and perform general office upkeep including painting and janitorial duties
• Manage traffic flow on site as needed
• Engage basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills to follow instructions and solve routine problems
• Undertake other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Possession of Forklift Ticket, Fall Arrest, and First Aid certifications are beneficial
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 65 pounds
• Must meet company safety-sensitive function standards
