About the Role

SIRIS APPS is seeking motivated Java Developers to join their core engineering team. The opportunity involves building scalable backend systems including enterprise applications, microservices, and integrations using Java and associated frameworks. There are three available contract positions open for either Auckland based or remote candidates, requiring 1 to 4 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

Develop, design, and maintain backend services leveraging Java technology.
Utilize Spring Boot to implement microservices and RESTful API endpoints.
Architect and optimize database structures and queries for performance.
Work collaboratively with frontend developers and product teams to deliver new features.
Engage in code reviews and provide guidance to junior development staff.
Ensure the backend applications are reliable, scalable, and perform efficiently.

Requirements

Minimum one year of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
Familiarity with Object-Relational Mapping tools such as Hibernate.
Experience working with relational databases including PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Understanding of REST API architecture and microservices patterns.
Awareness of containerization tools like Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Strong problem-solving abilities and good communication skills.

Databases: PostgreSQL
Infrastructure: Docker for containerization, AWS cloud services
