Lead Graphic Designer

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Graphic Designer to join our in-house studio team. This role involves collaborating closely with a talented group of creatives including producers, photographers, art directors, stylists, and marketing experts. Our team is unique in the UK as we are the sole retailer capable of producing content internally for major international brands.

This position is based at our dedicated content creation studio located at The Sharp Project in Manchester. You will report directly to the Head of Creative and Studio.

The Team and Environment

Our Studio Team is part of the wider Marketing Department, operating out of The Sharp Project. While our core operations happen in the studio, we work closely with Head Office and various business units. We handle projects spanning Footasylum’s own brands as well as well-known sportswear and streetwear labels.

The workplace is fast-paced and dynamic, with varied daily tasks from eCommerce shoots to large campaigns and retail activations. Creativity, teamwork, and a passion for the culture we represent are central to everything we do. We strive to create visually stunning content that resonates deeply with our customers.

Candidate Profile

You should be meticulous and excel in a fast-moving creative studio setting, with an obsession for graphic design and youth culture. Leadership qualities are important as you will guide a team while actively contributing to projects.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Keen eye for layout, typography, and fine details.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
• Strong communication skills.
• Passion for streetwear, youth culture, and innovative creative work.

Primary Responsibilities

• Own the entire graphics and artwork process from initial brief through to final approval for both print and digital mediums.
• Lead the graphics team daily by prioritizing tasks, assigning work, and ensuring smooth progress.
• Act as a brand custodian to ensure all visual content distinctly represents Footasylum’s identity.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on all graphic and artwork deliverables.
• Identify and implement more efficient work methods to enhance studio operations.
• Foster the development and growth of team members, helping them reach their full potential.
