Logistics Innovation Analyst

About the Role

Toyota North America is seeking a driven and innovative Logistics Innovation Analyst to join their Logistics Operations Department. This role focuses on fostering kaizen and innovation by managing projects, resolving problems creatively, and coaching team members on using advanced tools such as Power BI and AI. You will be responsible for building and maintaining data and cost visualization tools, optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce logistics costs, thereby boosting productivity within the Manufacturing Part Operations (MPO).

Key Responsibilities

• Apply PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle to ensure sustained process improvements alongside North American Manufacturing Company (NAMC) Production Control and Management teams.
• Collaborate across Export, Operations, and Logistics Planning to discover opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancements.
• Practice Genchi Genbutsu by direct observation to fully comprehend workflow inputs, outputs, and downstream effects.
• Lead efforts to visualize logistics costs and processes, facilitating discussions on cost trends, forecasts, and kaizen initiatives across TMNA and NAMC organizations.
• Support NAMC and Service Part Centers by tracking cost trends and delivering insightful communication to executive leadership.
• Oversee the North American Logistics Kaizen Report, reviewing submissions to validate kaizen status and coordinating with senior leadership, A&F, and Toyota Motor Corporation.

Candidate Profile

• Holds at least a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related analytical discipline.
• Possesses at least one year of experience in recognizing and implementing process improvements.
• Experienced in project management including scheduling, tracking activities and stakeholder coordination, with capability for high-level reporting.
• Skilled in translating business needs into technical requirements.
• Familiarity with data reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Python, Alteryx, Tableau, AI, or other business intelligence platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS) principles such as Just-In-Time, jidoka, and ji kotei kanketsu.
• Understanding of Toyota’s manufacturing supply chain tools and systems like eKanban, TLMS, OWK, and LIOS.
• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools like Power Automate.
• Formal training or certification in methodologies like Toyota Business Practice (TBP) and Ji Kotei Kanketsu (JKK).
• Exposure to financial report analysis and collaboration with Accounting & Finance stakeholders.
