Position Overview
The Manager of RID Operations is entrusted with the comprehensive responsibility to aid the Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC) of the Research, Innovation and Development (RID) in executing the University of Namibia's corporate strategic vision and devising business strategies for the Office of the PVC: RID. This role focuses on overseeing the operational activities within the PVC: RID office, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The managerial role involves providing high-level administrative and operational assistance to the PVC: RID. This includes effective management and administration of financial resources and budgets, ensuring compliance with established standards, and handling operational and logistical tasks within the office.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
- Possession of a Master's Degree in a relevant academic discipline is required.
- A minimum of three years' experience managing research grants and financial aspects of projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of International Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- At least three years of pertinent leadership experience supervising personnel and multiple organizational divisions comparable in scale and character to the University of Namibia.
- Demonstrated background in policy development, strategic planning, administration of donor-funded finances and budgets, project oversight, and financial management.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain productive stakeholder relationships, especially relating to university-industry partnerships and collaborations among public services, private sector entities, and donor organizations.
