Role Overview

The Operations Manager position is a full-time, on-site role located in the Rochester-Austin, Minnesota area. The manager is responsible for overseeing daily transportation activities including scheduling and dispatching vehicles, assigning drivers, and tracking route performance to ensure efficiency and punctuality. Collaboration with drivers, maintenance teams, and customer service is integral to uphold safety, compliance with regulations, and high service quality. Key duties include managing workflow, handling operational challenges, enhancing fleet utilization, supporting ongoing improvements in procedures and communication, maintaining detailed operational records, assisting with staffing and training efforts, and fostering a positive, collaborative workplace environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation or logistics operations focusing on scheduling, dispatch, and route planning.
• Proven leadership skills with team supervision and the promotion of safety and teamwork cultures.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities to handle multiple tasks within a dynamic setting.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with drivers, employees, and customers.
• Knowledge of fleet management practices, Department of Transportation rules, and basic vehicle maintenance concepts is advantageous.
• Comfortable using general office software and operational systems; experience with transportation management applications is beneficial.
• Capability to work on-site in the Rochester-Austin area and adapt to occasional schedule variations dictated by operational demands.
• Education or training relevant to business, operations management, transportation, or related disciplines is preferred, though significant equivalent experience will be accepted.
