Personal Support Worker

About the Role

ParaMed Home Health Care, a leading provider of home care services across Canada since 1974, is seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join their caring team in Wiarton, Ontario. This role involves delivering person-centred, professional care in patients' homes, supporting their daily living and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Visiting multiple patients' homes daily, providing essential personal support and care.
• Assisting with meal preparation and mealtime support.
• Performing basic housekeeping activities within the patients' residences.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance patients' quality of life.
• Assisting clients with personal hygiene, including bathing and showering.
• Supporting patients with fundamental activities of daily living.

Candidate Requirements

• Genuine compassion and strong listening abilities.
• A passion to positively impact the community through care.
• Availability and willingness to travel within a designated area for patient visits.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Experience with seniors or children is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Clear Criminal Background check requirement.
• Previous experience with personal hygiene care is advantageous but not essential.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Completion of secondary education (high school diploma or equivalent).

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive pay rate ranging from $22.59 to $25.38 per hour based on skills, experience, and education.
• Signing bonuses available for the Grey Bruce area: $1500 for full-time and $1000 for part-time employees paid in two installments, with the second installment after six months.
