About the Role
Join the Kānoa Strategy and Policy team as a Policy Advisor on a fixed-term contract through June 2027, based in Wellington Central. This role offers a fantastic chance to enhance your policy skills, contribute to diverse projects, and influence advice fostering regional growth and investment outcomes across New Zealand.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research, analyze and synthesize information from varied sources.
- Develop multiple policy options and assist in preparing policy recommendations.
- Support the delivery and management of policy projects and work streams.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with government stakeholders and other partners.
- Prepare briefings, detailed reports, and formal policy advice documents.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Requirements
- Strong analytical abilities including critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field.
- Aptitude for navigating ambiguous situations and creating practical solutions.
- Experience in collecting and evaluating information from multiple sources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Proven capacity to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively.

Additional Information
Salary range is from $75,000 to $93,000 annually, including Kiwisaver and wellness benefits.
