Procurement Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual to become part of our team in Dammam as a Procurement Specialist. In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing procurement efforts and sourcing strategies that support our shipping, logistics, marine, and gas operations. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of goods and services, while driving cost efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement activities across operational, technical, and corporate needs.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers, conduct RFQs and tender processes, and negotiate commercial terms and contracts.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
• Manage approved vendor databases and aid supplier qualification procedures.
• Monitor supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, contractual terms, and relevant regulations.
• Support procurement needs specifically for logistics, shipping, marine, and gas-related projects and operations.
• Perform spend analysis, implement cost optimization strategies, and prepare procurement reports.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and Project teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Identify procurement risks and contribute to strategic sourcing efforts.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of procurement experience, ideally within logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, marine services, or oil & gas industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in supplier sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
• Experience managing procurement processes using ERP systems.
• Familiarity with logistics and shipping operations; gas industry procurement experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cost management, procurement analytics, and supplier performance oversight.

Skills Required:

• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Solid commercial and financial understanding.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP software.
• Effective planning, organization, and time management capabilities.
• Excellent communication in Arabic and English, both oral and written.
• Ability to work efficiently with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced operational setting.
