Production Coordinator

Role overview

Charles Burnand Gallery is seeking a motivated Production Coordinator to support the daily workflow of the production team. The studio not only represents artists through the gallery, but also develops bespoke lighting and furniture pieces with a worldwide network of artisans. The design and production teams collaborate to create and deliver these works for clients.

What you will do

• Keep production timelines up to date for live projects, including milestones, deadlines, and delivery schedules for exhibitions, fairs, and commissions.
• Arrange workshop visits, quality checks, and final sign-offs so that finished pieces meet the required production standard before dispatch or installation.
• Manage logistics for shipping, storage, and installation of artworks and design pieces, making sure all paperwork is accurate and the process runs smoothly.
• Prepare installation manuals, care guides, and technical documents for custom works and artist-made pieces.
• Organise and monitor product photography so completed pieces are captured to a high standard for sales, archiving, and marketing.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets, keeping clear records of supplier payments, transport charges, and fabrication costs.
• Travel to workshops to review project progress and carry out quality control checks.
• Support sourcing of suppliers, contractors, and materials by gathering quotes, comparing options, and identifying the best production partners for each brief.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will bring 1–3 years of experience in production coordination, project management, or fabrication in art, design, interiors, or a similar creative sector. You should be highly organised, able to handle several projects at once, and confident communicating with artists, makers, clients, and suppliers. A practical, proactive, detail-focused approach and the ability to solve problems in a busy environment are important. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is expected, while Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite are beneficial. A strong interest in contemporary art, collectible design, and material-led practice is essential.

Employment details

This is a full-time role based in London, England, United Kingdom. Working days are Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.

Salary

The offered salary is between £30,000 and £35,000 per year.
