Role Summary
The Project Control Coordinator position is a full-time on-site role located in Edmonton, Alberta. The main responsibility is to assist in planning, monitoring, and reporting activities related to residential construction projects. Daily functions involve schedule and budget tracking, updating project files, and supporting cost control tasks such as invoice and change order reviews and financial forecasting. This role acts as a liaison coordinating information among construction managers, site supervisors, Design Managers, tradespeople, and suppliers to uphold schedules and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring alignment with plans.
- Maintain and update project documentation consistently.
- Assist with reviewing and controlling costs, including invoice verification and change order assessments.
- Coordinate information flow between various project stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Produce periodic status reports highlighting project progress and deviations.
- Identify discrepancies and support implementation of corrective measures.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements by managing templates, recording lessons learned, and refining control procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven skills in project coordination and control within construction or related sectors.
- Experience in cost management and budget monitoring.
- Strong analytical capabilities for data assessment and variance identification.
- Excellent communication skills facilitating collaboration with internal and external parties.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, business, civil engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Excel, MS Project, scheduling applications, and document control systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Basic knowledge of residential construction terminology and processes is advantageous.
- Ability to work onsite at the Edmonton location in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
