Position Overview
The Project Manager is tasked with ensuring the successful delivery of customer projects through a structured stage-gate process. This role drives automation and control systems integration projects in construction-focused environments, such as hyperscale data centers, overseeing all stages from initial planning through commissioning and project closure. Collaboration with engineering, subcontractors, field personnel, and customers is essential to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications and contracts. Utilizing centralized PMO tools and governance, the Project Manager leads cross-functional teams and balances strong customer leadership with disciplined execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from execution start through to commissioning and closeout stages, ensuring all gate approvals and deliverables are achieved before advancing.
- Develop and control project plans, schedules, and budgets in line with PMO standards.
- Act as primary contact for clients regarding assigned projects.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary teams spanning engineering, procurement, fabrication, software, and onsite services.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks, address issues, and manage changes diligently.
- Provide timely, precise project reporting utilizing standardized PMO software.
- Support installation and commissioning efforts, facilitating customer acceptance procedures.
- Foster a corporate culture emphasizing safety, quality, and responsibility.
- Oversee daily subcontractor and trade partner activities to align fieldwork with project specifications and quality standards.
- Assist with scheduling, material logistics, and monitoring installation progress.
- Ensure readiness for commissioning and successful system turnover.
- Enforce safety policies and safe working methods on-site.
- Serve as a liaison among customers, contractors, and partners, proactively communicating project status, milestones, and schedules.
- Maintain precise project documentation and communication logs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related technical fields.
- Minimum of five years managing complex industrial or systems integration projects.
- Proven experience coordinating subcontractors, schedules, and documentation on active construction sites.
- Familiarity with automation, control systems integration, or mission-critical infrastructures is advantageous.
- PMP certification preferred or progress towards certification.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical project execution in construction environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills facilitating cross-team collaboration.
- Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic project setting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining effective teamwork and leadership communication remotely.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with an understanding of their implications on safety and operational performance.
