About the Role
Castal Dies and Tools is seeking a seasoned Quality Control Engineer specialized in Tool Room Manufacturing to join our Quality / Inspection department. Based in Bhosari, Pune, this full-time role requires 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and focuses on dimensional inspection, quality validation, and measurement analysis to ensure components meet drawing and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute in-process quality inspections throughout various manufacturing phases in the tool room.
- Conduct final inspections on dies, moulds, tools, fixtures, and precision parts.
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for dimensional checks and generate reports aligned with engineering drawings and customer needs.
- Utilize 3D scanning tools and software alongside PolyWorks for scan data processing, alignment, comparison, and quality reporting.
- Use precision instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore and dial gauges for dimensional inspections.
- Interpret 2D engineering drawings, including GD&T, tolerances, and specifications.
- Identify quality discrepancies, dimensional deviations, and defects in manufacturing outputs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional manufacturing teams including Tool Room, Production, CNC, VMC, EDM, and Wire Cut to address and resolve quality concerns.
- Provide feedback on dimensional adjustments and process enhancements to manufacturing teams.
- Maintain comprehensive quality documentation including inspection, measurement, and rejection reports.
- Support root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures for quality issues.
- Ensure calibration and correct use of all inspection and measuring devices.
- Maintain adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
- Assist in customer inspections and manage quality-related documentation as needed.
Requirements
- Mandatory prior work experience in Tool Room Manufacturing quality control.
- Proficiency in CMM operation and CMM software usage.
- Experience with 3D scanning equipment and software.
- Strong working knowledge of PolyWorks software.
- Extensive background in in-process inspection methodologies.
- Good grasp of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawings comprehension.
- Expertise in inspecting tools, dies, moulds, fixtures, jigs, and precision components.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques.
- Ability to analyze measurement data and compile detailed inspection reports.
- Diploma, BE, or B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related fields.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
